Read the passage carefully. Then choose the correct answer.

A Yugoslavian nun, Mother Theresa first came to India to teach young girls from wealthy Indian families. However, in her travels around the country, she saw how the poor Indian people lived. There were homeless people living in the streets. Some were too poor to feed themselves and died of starvation. No one in the country who could help them did anything for these poor people. She felt determined to do something to help.

She realized that this was the job that God wanted her to do, so she left he highly paid job to help the poor in India. At first, it was hard for her. She did not have much support. Whatever little food and money she had, she gave them to those who came to her for help. No one was ever turned away from her doorstep.

She went around the city looking for the homeless and starving and took them off the streets. When the people in the area saw how hard she was trying to help their own people, they felt ashamed. They wanted to follow her example. They donated food and money to help the poor. With more support from the community, she set up many homes all over India. Soon, she was known all over the world as the savior of the poor.
