Read the passage carefully. Then choose the correct answer.

After nine hours of cleaning and scrubbing, Madam Huang was ready to have a  good meal and a rest. Whatever little she earned was just enough to pay her bills and buy her food. She was about to sit down and have her meal when there was a knock at her door. She opened it.

A young girl was standing there crying. Madam Huang asked her gently what was wrong. Between sobs, she told Madam Huang that her mother was very ill. The family was too poor to bring her to the doctor. The little girl had been going round knocking on doors. Unfortunately, no one was willing to help. Madam Huang took pity on her. Abandoning her food, she followed the girl back to her house.

The bare house confirmed what the little girl had told her. Madam Huang called for a taxi and brought the lady to the nearest clinic. She told the doctor the family situation and asked the doctor to find help for the family. The doctor was helpful. Before leaving the clinic, she gave the girl some money and told her to take care of herself and her mother.
