It was way past midnight and the Lim family was in their rooms, already in dreamland. Unknown to them, two masked figures were trying to open their front door. They fiddled with it for a few minutes but were unsuccessful. They went round the back. one of the windows was slightly opened. The shorter of the two squeezed in and opened it fully. Both were now in the house. Creeping quietly through the house, they collected as many valuable things as they could and dumped them into a big bag they had with them. They then went tiptoeing up the stairs to the bedrooms. From the study room they carted away the laptop computer. In the master bedroom, they took all the valuables they could lay their hands on. Suddenly, a loud snore from Mr Lim startled the two and made them rush out at once. In their haste they tripped on the steps and landed in a heap at the bottom of the stairs. The noise woke up the Lims and the two were quickly caught. That was a close shave for the Lim family !
