Stuck at Home with Chicken-Pox |
|
It all started with a small blister on my eyelid that hurt when I touched
it. Soon, more blisters appeared on my hands and neck. My mom said it was
chicken-pox after checking me.
She took me to the doctor who said I needed rest. I got a note for two weeks
off from school and some pills for the fever.
Two weeks! I had to stay at home the whole time.
More blisters showed up all over my body, even inside my throat, making it
hard to swallow. I also got a fever now and then, which made me feel like I
was in a weird dream.
Looking in the mirror, I saw my face covered in red blisters. I was worried
they would leave scars.
So, I had to stay home, doing nothing much. I had to be careful not to break
the blisters, and I couldn't have any visitors or go out to see anyone.
That's what you do when you have chicken-pox, you have to stay away from
people.
The days went by slowly. The blisters dried up and left dark scabs that
eventually fell off, leaving some red marks. They ended up all over the
floor, bed, and my clothes.
I stayed at home for two weeks. When it was over, my skin was better, and I
could go back to school. The scars stayed for a few more months, but I was
just happy to finally be out of the house again. |
