The classroom was bathed in the glow of the evening sun, its crimson rays
painting my books and reflecting off my paper covered in red marks. As I
looked at the exam paper, I sighed in disappointment. After school, I
hurriedly left the premises, not wanting anyone to see my disheartened
state. Once in the residential area, I slowed down, wandering aimlessly. At
a corner, I suddenly noticed a spider. "It's weaving a web!" I exclaimed,
momentarily forgetting my troubles. I stopped and watched with rapt
attention.
The spider proceeded with its task, neither too fast nor too slow,
resembling a sculptor meticulously crafting its beloved work. Perhaps fate
decided to test it. Suddenly, a gust of wind rustled the nearby leaves, and
I sneezed. Needless to say, the spider's first attempt was a failure.
Yet, it remained undeterred, continuing to weave its web with
tranquility, akin to a compassionate mother knitting a sweater for her
beloved child. Witnessing its focused determination, a warm feeling stirred
within me. But fate seemed unkind once more. Another gust of wind, and its
effort went in vain. I temporarily forgot my own worries and wondered, "Will
it persist?"
Just as I pondered this, the spider resolutely started weaving its web
again. Truly, it was a tenacious spider. Slowly and steadily, time passed
by. The sun had set, and darkness enveloped the scene. I checked my watch;
it was already half-past six. So, I hurriedly ran home. As I looked back at
the spider, I noticed a mischievous child throwing a small stone at the web.
"What an unlucky spider!" I thought, disappointed, as I returned home.
The next morning, with my backpack on, I headed to school. The sun rose
from the east, shining on my face. Passing the corner, I was astonished to
find a spider web still in place. My heart was shaken, feeling deeply
touched and warm. The sun's rays embraced me, making me feel content. I
thought to myself, "If even a spider can be so persistent, then I should not
be disheartened by minor setbacks. I must be like the spider, never giving
up, striving to 'weave' a brilliant 'web' for my own life."
In every encounter lies a touch of warmth. We should not be discouraged
by setbacks but persistently create a better tomorrow, just like the spider. |
