Yan-Yan was an ordinary child who loved to play more than
study. But as he grew older, he began to display some unusual behavior,
especially in his kindness towards small and bullied children. He also had a
hidden strength that made even bigger boys respect him.
Yan-Yan's paternal grandmother, Por-por, recognized his special traits and
saw in him the tenacity she had inherited from her own grandmother. She took
him under her wings and shared with him her natural and learned knowledge of
traditional medicine.
At first, Yan-Yan was afraid of what he could see in people around him, but
as he learned to use his sixth sense for good, his fear disappeared. He
spent his afternoons after school assisting Por-por with consultations from
elders seeking her herbal remedies. On weekends, they would go to the jungle
to collect medicinal herbs, and Por-por taught him how to identify and
preserve them.
One day, Por-por fell ill and Yan-Yan had a vision of a plant that could
heal her. He went into the jungle and found the plant, boiled its leaves,
and gave her the soup for seven days. On the seventh day, Por-por was
completely healed, and Yan-Yan's skills were praised.
Yan-Yan continued to go to school and learn his grandmother's profession. He
also gave his friends "the sixth sense" treatment to help them face the
battles of life. He spent his holidays learning the scriptures in the temple
and meditating to strengthen his inner resolve.
Yan-Yan dreamed of pursuing a medical career that combined modern and
traditional medicine to bring about wellness. Only time would tell if he
could fulfill his dream.
In summary, Yan-Yan was born with the gift of the sixth sense and learned to
use it for good under the guidance of his grandmother, Por-por. His
kindness, strength, and healing abilities made him stand out among his
peers. His dream was to combine modern and traditional medicine to promote
wellness. |
