Dear Sir/Madam, Re: Traffic Woes in Taman Bahagia
I am writing on behalf of the residents in Taman Bahagia, Seremban. We have
been experiencing endless traffic jams in our area. Many of us are stressed and
frustrated due to the waste of precious time and fuel.
There are three main causes of this problem. Firstly, a number of new
residential areas have opened up behind Taman Bahagia. Unfortunately, motorists
have to go through Taman Bahagia in order to get onto the main road and back.
Besides that, the bus service is infrequent
and unreliable so people have to use their own cars to get around. This adds to
the traffic congestion. To make matters worse, a toll booth has recently been
set up at the exit/entrance to Taman Lekas, which is
adjacent to Taman Bahagia. Now, many motorists have rerouted their
journey and come through Taman Bahagia to avoid paying the toll. This adds to
the traffic problems we are experiencing.
We have tried to improve the situation by car pooling and using public
transport, but this has not helped much. The situation gets worse by the day
especially during rush hour. We would like
to appeal to the authorities to help us by taking a few simple steps. First,
traffic lights should be installed at the main junctions within Taman Bahagia.
This will ensure a smooth flow of traffic. As it is now, every motorist drives
as if he has the right of way.
Second, the toll at Taman Lekas should be removed. This will ease congestion
at Taman Bahagia. The bus service should also be improved. Buses should ply the
route every half hour instead of every hour. They should be punctual, especially
during rush hour.
Finally, we also hope a new road can be opened up, linking the newer housing
areas directly to the main highway. In this way, they will not have to use the
narrow roads in the existing housing areas.
We hope to see some action taken soon. Life is becoming intolerable for the
residents in the area but we know that the situation can be improved if the
proper steps are taken.
Thank you.
Yours faithfully, |
