Judy and I often play together during the weekends. She and I are the same age but we look very different. Judy has long silky hair that she keeps
plaited, while I have straight hair that is too short to tie.
One day, Judy and I decided to go roller blading. Her birthday was just over and her parents had bought her a gleaming new pair of roller blades. I roller bladed with my worn pair. I did not mind though because we had so much fun. We each bought a bottle of mineral water when we got thirsty. When Judy had finished drinking, she carelessly threw the empty bottle on the ground. I was horrified and told her to be more considerate by disposing of it properly, into the dustbin. Judy only smiled and paid no attention to me.
When we got home, Judy took off her roller blades and left them lying on the floor just below the stairs. I told her that it was dangerous to put them there because people might trip over them. They belonged in the cupboard instead. Again, Judy smiled sweetly and told me not to worry as nothing would happen. Just then, my younger brother, Billy, came down the stairs. He did not see Judy's roller blades there. He tripped over the roller blades and fell on his face. He cried out in pain as his nose started to bleed.
Mother heard the commotion and rushed Billy to the hospital. She was
fuming mad with Judy for what she had done. Judy felt bad that she had been so inconsiderate. |
