Max went to a roti chanai restaurant for breakfast. He ordered roti
chanai and curry.
When he had almost finished his breakfast he called the waiter saying, 'Look there's a dead fly in my curry. A big blue-bottle fly too!' The waiter
apologized and offered him a new bowl of curry. Max said he wanted a
free meal instead as he was already full. The waiter talked to the manager
and they did not charge Max for the meal.
A few days later Max was in another restaurant eating a chicken rice
lunch. Halfway through his meal he complained to the waiter about a
dead cockroach in his rice. He demanded a free meal and got it.
The following week Max was seen eating spaghetti for dinner at an
expensive restaurant. He had almost finished his meal when he asked
to see the manager. `I'm not going to pay for this meal,' Max told the
manager, `There's a tail of a lizard or something in my pasta. See for
yourself...'
At that moment the waiter from the roti chanai restaurant, dressed
in a different uniform and serving at the next table, noticed Max. He
recognized him immediately. He told the manager about Max and the
police were called. Max was arrested for having conned restaurants into
giving him free meals. |
