My dream house is very different from the ordinary terraced house I am living in
at present. I dream of living in a wooden house in the countryside. It may look
like a kampong house but in fact, it is a modern and environmentally friendly
building. The location of a house is very important. The ideal location, in my
opinion, is close to nature and far away from the noisy crowded city. Hence, my
dream house is situated in the countryside. I would build it beside a river. The
river is important because it would allow me to travel by boat. Since fishing is
my favorite hobby, I will be able to catch fresh fish for my family's meals. The
house will be surrounded by greenery. The air will be free from
exhaust fumes. I will wake up to the sound
of birds chirping instead of car horns.
My dream house will not be surrounded by a fence like a prison. It will have
a big garden with fruit trees and flowering plants. The garden grounds will be
planted with soft grass that does not need to be cut. I will be able to walk
around barefooted. The most important feature in my garden will be a
pergola. It will be built of wood like the
house. The beams will be covered with a climbing plant to give shade. The
pergola is where my family and I can enjoy our tea or even dinner in the open.
The house itself will be built entirely of strong wood. It will have one
floor and will be built on pillars like a traditional Malay house. There will be
three bedrooms with bathrooms attached, a living and dining area and a big
kitchen. I love reading so there will be a reading corner with shelves from
floor to ceiling for my library of books. My dream house is
eco-friendly. It will be powered by solar
energy. The most interesting feature of my house will be the roof garden. I will
grow plants and even vegetables on my roof. This is good for the environment and
will help keep the house cool.
It is my hope that I will be able to build my dream house one day. To achieve
this, I will make sure that I work hard and earn enough money to build my dream
