A Person Who Was Difficult To Please

Cassandra was a chubby-cheeked and adorable little girl. She had such a bright smile that everyone around her was happy when she smiled. She always walked around with her hair in a short swingy pony tail. However, as she grew older, she smiled less often. She had become a demanding person.

One cool night, she sat down at the dining table to have her dinner. Her father, who was an extremely good cook, had spent the whole evening preparing dinner for the family. Cassandra's mother helped in the kitchen as well, busily preparing dinner. Her parents served some warm and delicious fried noodles with green leafy vegetables on top. Cassandra, however, pulled a long face. "I'm not going to eat this awful thing ! I want a fried egg on top and I want it now," she exclaimed.

Her father, who was tired from all that cooking, set out patiently into the kitchen to fry an egg for Cassandra. he brought the egg to her. "dad ! The egg yolk is broken, I will not eat this egg because I want the whole yolk !" she exclaimed. her tired father lost his patience with her. He took the egg and the plate of noodles from Cassandra, "If you are going to be so difficult to please," he said sternly, "you will not have anything to eat until you learn to be more thankful for what you have."

Cassandra did not know what to say. she ran crying into her bedroom without her dinner. She had learnt her lesson. Having any kind of food for dinner is better than having nothing for dinner. she would not be so demanding and difficult to please in the future.
