There is nothing like a good and clean restaurant to have your meal, relax and
unwind after a hard day's work. Recently,
the town council declared this week Cleanliness Week. The recent outbreak of
diseases certainly has caused a scare among people and they are wary of eating
out. Thus, restaurant owners should take this opportunity to clean up their
premises to attract customers as well as prevent any diseases.
Firstly, restaurant owners should ensure that their employees cover their heads
with proper headgear while preparing and serving meals. All cooked food should
be covered properly with food covers to keep flies off the food. Stale food
should be thrown away immediately. Next, employees should wash plates, cups and
utensils thoroughly each morning before use as well as at the end of the day.
Using hot water for washing should be encouraged as it kills germs.Apart from
the above, restaurants owners should ensure that the place is clean and tidy.
Workers should clean the floor with disinfectant before and after business
hours. A dirty floor attracts flies that may lead to diseases.
Lastly, rubbish must be thrown away at the end of each day. Garbage bins must
be properly covered to prevent dogs, cats and rats from
scavenging for food at night. |
