The age between twelve to late teens is an age of fun, merry laughter
and the age of exploration of the unknown. After that, people move on
to the next stage in life - the age between twenty three to thirty three
years. At this age, one has to work hard to earn a living and there will be
less play.
For me, I will definitely enjoy my best years from the age of twenty-three to thirty-three years. At this age, I will be financially independent and
free from the many problems that plagued me as a teenager.
Once I reach that age, I will be out of a prestigious university, and will
most probably be a freelance journalist, traveling around the country,
nosing around for a worthwhile story to write. As a teenager, I could never
hope to travel anywhere without being chaperoned. Now, I will have total
freedom to do that.
As a young working adult, I think I would have saved enough money
to buy a landed property, perhaps a double-storey terraced house
somewhere near my parents' house. Why, you may ask. Of course, to ask
for their help to clean up the mess I will be making, as I am a terribly untidy
person and have no inkling of how to keep my house clean. You cannot
fault me as I always have had a maid to help me out.
At this age, I think I will be able to afford a small, comfortable car to
take me from point A to point B. The car will be a blue one as blue is my favorite colour. It will be an imported car as I think I would have had
enough of the rickety local cars that my parents are presently using.
At this age, I will have a chance to travel to new places and meet
new faces. The first two places that I will visit will be Japan, with its majestic
temples and great parks and Hawaii, where the fresh, floral air will energize
me, the warm, tranquil waters, refresh me and the breathtaking, natural
beauty, renew me.
Last but not least, I will have a down to-earth husband with a sense
of humor, not so 'kiasu', caring and responsible. We will be able to do
things like taking photographs, keeping pet cats and lots of other exciting
things together.
What I have written might only exist in my fantasy because one can
never really predict the future. Nevertheless, I hope this imagined lifestyle
can become a reality one fine day. |
