Jacintha and her friends, Brian and Joe, were out in the forest. They were
taking pictures of forest trees and animals for their science project. They knew
that wild animals were dangerous but it did not bother them. "We can run fast !"
they said. As they walked, they heard something move in the bushes. It seemed
to be following their every move. Joe turned around. To his horror, it was a
tiger. It was much bigger up close than in
the pictures in his science textbooks. He shouted at Jacintha and Brian to run.
The tiger chased the children. It was hungry and ferocious. The tiger was
gaining on the children when they came
across a river. Without a second thought, all three of them jumped into the
river.
The tiger did not like the idea of getting itself wet, so it gave up chasing
the children. It paced back and forth on the river bank, wondering if it could
get to the children in any way. The children relaxed in the water, as the river
swept the children to safety. |
