A Memorable Weekend in Terengganu: Sun, Sand, Sea, and
Local Delicacies |
|
Tina and I had the opportunity to spend an amazing weekend in Terengganu, where
we stayed at Tina's aunt's house just a stone's throw away from the beach. The
early morning walk on the beach was an unforgettable experience. The sea looked
luminous, and the beach was washed clean by the tide, leaving only little crabs
and gulls to traverse the sand.
After enjoying the peace and quiet of the beach, we were greeted by Auntie Lis,
who had prepared a delicious brunch for us. We then explored the Kuala
Terengganu market, sampling local delicacies, such as keropok lekor and duku
langsat. We also indulged in batik painting and admired the fine craftsmanship
of songket weaving.
Later, we had a barbeque dinner under the stars, celebrating Earth Hour '09 with
Uncle Shah's stories of old Terengganu. The following morning, we visited the
turtle hatchery near Kuantan, where we released little turtle hatchlings into
the sea.
Our weekend in Terengganu was rejuvenating, leaving us refreshed and filled with
a quiet joy. The sun, sand, and sea, along with the local delicacies and
cultural experiences, made our trip a truly memorable one. |
