Ways to respect the elderly |
|
The elderly refers to those who are over 60 years old. They are our mothers,
fathers, grandparents, uncles, or aunts. They are the group that has made the
most contributions to their families, society, and country. The elderly have
gone through many challenges and hardships in raising their children. However,
today, the elderly are often neglected, like the saying, "left to cling to a
stick," and their contributions are forgotten by society. Some of them are even
considered as a burden. Nevertheless, the services and contributions of the
elderly must be valued by all.
Family members need to love the elderly. The elderly, who consist of mothers who
give birth to children and manage household chores and educate their children,
and fathers who work hard to provide for their families, must be remembered and
repaid with the best. As children, we need to take care of our parents when they
are old and weak. Children should not send their elderly parents to nursing
homes. If they do, they can be considered as ungrateful.
In addition, teachers are role models who advise students to respect their
parents and the elderly. We need to pay attention and accompany them often. In
addition, children should speak politely when communicating with their parents.
When saying goodbye, children should kiss their hands. This is because a
mother's love leads to heaven, and a father's love is willing to sacrifice his
life. Children should not neglect these elderly people.
Next, the government and private sectors also play a role in respecting the
elderly. The government and private sectors should work hand in hand like a rock
and a cliff. Both sides should provide various facilities for the elderly. For
example, a nursing home with various care facilities should be provided for
them. In addition, the elderly should also be given free treatment in government
hospitals. If they need to pay, they should be charged a low rate in government
or private clinics. This concern shows a sense of care without regard to rank,
for the comfort of the elderly.
The media is not excluded in efforts to respect the elderly. Mass media such as
newspapers, television, and the Internet can broadcast stories related to the
sacrifices and hardships of the elderly's lives. For example, the program
broadcast by TV3, "Bersamamu", shows that there are various parties who are
willing to help, especially to the vulnerable elderly. This raises our awareness
of the importance of the elderly in our lives. Therefore, we cannot neglect the
elderly.
In conclusion, various parties need to make efforts to respect the elderly's
services and sacrifices. Without their contributions, our lives would not be as
comfortable as they are today. Therefore, let us show gratitude and respect to
the elderly in our lives. |
