An Adventurous Day with Amir |
|
On Saturday morning, I went on a cycling trip with my friend Amir to Kampung
Menglembu. Amir's uncle, Mr. Ali, had invited us to join him and his buddies for
a fishing trip. It was an unforgettable outing for me.
We cycled to Bukit Menglembu, a long and winding uphill road. Although it was
tiring, the view from the top was breathtaking. We took a break to catch our
breath and enjoy the scenery. Then, we cycled downhill to Kampung Menglembu,
just a few meters away from the foothill. The ride was more manageable, and I
was thrilled. In fact, I challenged Amir to a race.
Despite Amir's warnings, I rode down the hill at a breakneck speed. But then, a
car appeared on the other side of the road, and I panicked. I tried to slow
down, but the brakes failed. I spun out of control and eventually landed in a
clump of bushes. Amir caught up with me, and we laughed at my foolishness.
After that incident, we cycled leisurely to Mr. Ali's house. He took us to the
beach and instructed us to be quiet and follow his instructions. We were there
to fish, not swim. I smiled awkwardly, recalling my earlier mishap.
A few minutes later, I fell into the water while trying to get a glimpse of the
catch. Fortunately, I had a safety jacket on, and Mr. Ali and his friends
rescued me. Amir didn't say anything, but I knew he was angry. Mr. Ali scolded
me for being impulsive and risking my life.
We had a good catch, and Mr. Ali prepared lunch for us. Afterward, we headed
home. Amir warned me that he wouldn't go on any more outings with me unless I
promised to behave. I learned my lesson and promised to be more careful in the
future. |
