Honesty in School |
|
As a student who has been in school for ten years, I have witnessed many
instances of dishonesty amongst my classmates. It is unfortunate that even in a
learning institution, dishonesty occurs. However, as young students, we should
understand that honesty is an important value that should be upheld.
One incident that I will never forget is when a classmate kept excess change
given to him by a vendor. He was proud of his dishonesty and shared it with us.
It was disappointing to see such behavior in Year Three students.
To ensure parents were aware of their child's performance, the school
implemented a policy of getting test papers signed. Unfortunately, some students
forged their parents' signatures to avoid consequences for not studying. A close
friend of mine did this, but was eventually caught and given demerit points.
I have also seen students lie about completing their homework. When questioned
by the teacher, they would claim it was lost or handed in, even though it was
obvious they were at fault. This puts the teacher in a difficult position, as
they cannot punish the student without evidence.
It is sad that students as young as nine years old can be dishonest. We should
strive to be honest in all aspects of our lives, including in school. Remember,
honesty is the best policy. |
