Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the cancellation of his planned
visit to Israel, citing the ongoing conflict in Gaza as the reason. Relations
between Turkey and Israel had thawed
recently, with talks of joining a natural gas pipeline project.
However, Erdogan's criticism intensified after the deadly blast at a Gaza
hospital, prompting him to condemn the United Nations Security Council for its
stance on the conflict. Urging for a ceasefire and the release of hostages,
Erdogan plans to rally in Istanbul in support of Palestinian rights. |
