In a recent interview, Deputy US Trade Representative Sarah Bianchi emphasized
that the ongoing review of tariffs on Chinese goods by the United States will
not be influenced by any potential trade breakthrough
between the two countries.
The Biden administration is taking an analytical approach, studying industry
feedback and consulting with various agencies to determine the strategic
relevance of different categories. The review, mandated by the Trade Act of
1974, is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
While acknowledging the challenges in US-China trade relations, Bianchi
emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy dialogue between the world's
two largest economies. |
