President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine stated that the US and German air
defence systems have shown "significant results" amidst ongoing Russian air
strikes targeting civilians and residential areas. Both sides have
escalated attacks on troops, infrastructure,
and weaponry since Russia's invasion last year, with Ukraine aiming to dislodge
Russian forces from southern and eastern regions. Zelenskyy praised the
effectiveness of advanced air defence systems, including the US-built Patriot
and Germany's IRIS-T, which have resulted in shooting down a substantial number
of Russia's recent attacks. However, casualties and damage to civilian
infrastructure were reported.
International talks in Saudi Arabia involving various countries, including
the US, China, and India, took place to address the conflict, but concrete
actions are yet to be determined. |
