In Greek mythology, a centaur, also known as hippocentaur, is a
member of a (1)
composite race of creatures. It is part human and part
horse. It has the upper (2)
torso of a human and the lower body of a horse.
The Centaurs were known to be sometimes very
(3) hostile
towards humans. They were often involved in
(4) brawls and
battles. The Greek god, Zeus, made us of the Centaurs to punish
gods and humans who had offended him.
However, in some modern day novels and children's book,
centaurs have been (5)
depicted as wise and noble. They possess the gift of
stargazing, prophecy, healing and warfare. They are a fierce and
valiant race. |
