It was time. After taking a month-long break, I
(1) resumed my
schedule. I (2)
commuted to work on the train, worked hard in the office
and came home again in the evening. It was the same
(3) routine
day after day.
The only difference was that now, I was returning to an empty
house. My (4)
companion of six years was gone. He had been suffering
from cancer for half a year and his body finally gave out in
July. It was the vet who advised me to
(5) alleviate his misery and put him to
sleep. Much as I was reluctant to, I knew that it was the right
thing to do. With much tears and kisses, I released him of his
pain. |
