Grandpa was getting along in years. He had his good and bad
days. Sometimes, these days were (1)
sandwiched very close together. This made it
difficult to (2)
accept that it was the same person. On his good days,
Grandpa would take a trip down memory lane and tell us
(3) fascinating
stories of his younger days.
On his bad days, Grandpa would be lost to us. He would be
(4) drifting
along in his own world. On such days, we would not know what to
(5) expect of
him. He would be quiet one moment and bellowing the next. |
