The horror-slasher film inspired by a certain beloved children's character
starts off promisingly with an unsettling animated sequence depicting the
character's abandonment and subsequent descent into cannibalism and madness.
However, the film quickly devolves into a standard
slasher flick, complete with masked villains and scantily-clad coeds.
Although a Winnie the Pooh horror movie had the potential to be a pointed
commentary on childhood neglect and escapism, the film fails to deliver anything
beyond generic horror tropes. |
