"Attachment" is a unique and subtle film, blending elements of lesbian romance,
Jewish folklore, and horror. The story follows the relationship between Maja and
Leah, which becomes increasingly complicated when Leah's mentally ill mother
seems to be dabbling in Jewish mystical
rituals.
The film's small cast delivers strong performances, particularly Ellie
Kendrick as Leah. While the film's portrayal of ultra-orthodox Jews accepting
the lesbian relationship feels unrealistic, the love story between Maja and Leah
is moving and beautifully portrayed. Overall, "Attachment" is a good film with a
sense of foreboding that will leave viewers feeling unsettled. |
