My Journey to Becoming a General Practitioner

As a young child, I was always disturbed by the pain and suffering that I witnessed around me, whether it be a bleeding child or an elderly woman with an incurable disease. This experience led me to develop a strong desire to become a doctor and to help relieve the pain and suffering of others. Unlike many people who have ambitions for wealth, power, or fame, my ambition is to serve humanity through the practice of medicine.

To pursue my ambition, I have a long and difficult journey ahead of me. First, I need to excel in my studies in high school to be eligible to take the university entrance examination. After being accepted into the medical school in Singapore, I will be subjected to rigorous academic and practical training. During the first year, I will be required to attend lectures on physiology and anatomy, which will give me an in-depth understanding of the body's different organs and their functions, as well as the various diseases that affect them. I will also be taught how to diagnose and treat these diseases. The lectures will be given by highly qualified specialists in the field.

In addition to the academic training, I will also have to undergo practical training in a hospital. As a medical student, I will have to "walk the wards" with experienced doctors, observing their treatment of patients, and making reports on my own diagnoses. These reports will be corrected and evaluated so that I can learn from my mistakes. After four years of practical training, I will be recognized as a "House man".

There will be several written examinations throughout the five-year training, including the first M.B. exam, the second M.B. exam, and the final exams, which will include both written and practical components. Upon passing these exams, I will finally become a qualified doctor and be able to use the "M.B." designation.

With my qualifications, I hope to obtain a grant to study abroad, specifically in Australia, where I will have the opportunity to learn new techniques, see different methods, and earn even higher qualifications, such as a Doctor of Medicine degree. After completing my post-graduate studies, I plan to work as an assistant medical officer in a busy city in Malaysia to gain more practical experience. There, I will treat patients of all ages, including children, young mothers, and the elderly, and develop my skills in diagnosing and treating various illnesses.

During this time, I will also strive to save money, as doctors are well-compensated for their work. After a few years of working as a general practitioner, I hope to have saved enough money to start my own medical practice in my village. My ultimate ambition is to serve my community by offering medical care to those in need, without specializing in any particular field. Although I may not be an expert in a specific area, I will have a good understanding of common ailments and know when to refer patients to specialists if necessary.

In conclusion, my ambition is to become a general practitioner and to serve my community through the practice of medicine. It is a long and challenging journey, but I am determined to make it a reality, so that I can make a positive impact on the lives of others and bring an end to their suffering.
