The Gift of Two
Pearls
My love, you know I have a husband true,
Yet you bestow two pearls upon
me, new.
I feel your passion wrapped in
silken thread,
Tied to my red robe, where it's
safely led.
My home towers high above the garden's bloom,
Where my husband stands with his
sword, in room.
I know your heart is steadfast as
the sun,
And vow to be with him until
life's done.
Returning your two pearls with tears that fall,
Regretting that we never met
before all.
But though we can't be wed in
this lifetime,
Our love will shine on until the
end of time. |
