A Night of Wonder
Last night the stars were shining bright,
The wind was howling through the night.
On the west, a painted pavilion,
On the east, a room with sweet-smelling incense burnin'.
No phoenix wings to carry me away,
But our hearts beat as one, no words to say.
Spring wine and laughter filled the room,
A game of arrows lit by candlelight in bloom.
Alas, the drums call, duty to fulfill,
Onward I ride, chasing dreams, like a wandering daffodil. |
