anyone else can handle it that way.

In the above example, Fran made two statements, but there
were not, in my opinion, different enough to be two separate
compliments. In other words, she said "You did a great job" then she
embellished it somewhat. If she had said something complimentary
about two different things the "Thanks
for the compliments" would be in
order.
