Currently, our environment is facing severe destruction due to human activities.
Rampant deforestation has turned lush mountains into barren hills, leading to
soil erosion. Overhunting and poaching have pushed many wildlife species to the
brink of extinction, causing ecological imbalances. Chemical misuse has
contaminated water sources, while thick smoke from factory chimneys pollutes the
air, resulting in serious consequences such as floods, fires, insect
infestations, and air pollution. These hazards pose a significant threat to
people's lives and health. Finally realizing the gravity of the situation, we
have placed environmental protection on the agenda.
In fact, environmental protection is everyone's responsibility. Even as
elementary school students, we should understand the significance of
environmental conservation and actively participate in it through practical
actions. For instance, we should not casually dispose of used batteries but
handle them correctly so as to prevent soil contamination. After
school-organized picnics or outings, we should properly handle leftover food
containers and beverage bottles, avoiding thoughtlessly tossing them on the
ground or into rivers to prevent water pollution.
Additionally, we should actively engage in tree-planting activities each
year, protect seedlings and trees, and contribute to greening our surroundings.
Furthermore, it is essential to spread awareness about environmental protection,
such as the importance of preserving beneficial insects and birds, refraining
from capturing wild animals, and avoiding indiscriminate tree felling. By
mobilizing every individual to take action and protect the environment around
us, we can strive together to create a beautiful home. |
