Some
prepositions are missing in the conversation. |

I'd like to congratulate you your
winning the competition. Yours was a wonderful composition. |
John Doe |
: |
Thanks. I never thought that I
would win because I faced stiff competition the others. |
Interviewer |
: |
Well, all the judges felt your song
had that extra something lacking in the others. |
John Doe |
: |
I took part in some competitions
last year, but didn't even make it to the semi-finals. |
Interviewer |
: |
Did you do something different this
time ? |
John Doe |
: |
Well, when I think back what I
wrote earlier, they were rather mushy numbers. I wrote about
missing a loved one, broken hearts ... that sort of thing. This
latest song is never giving up hope. |
Interviewer |
: |
Was it based on a personal story ? |
John Doe |
: |
Yes. I was on drugs once. I was
conscious what I was doing but I didn't care. I ended up with no
money, no hope. One day, a friend spotted me in the alley which
had become my home. He got me to a counsellor and stayed by my
side till I recovered from my addiction. He never gave up on me.
That was why when I held up my trophy, I said, "Francis, I know
you're watching this. This is you." |
