Read the following letter. Some of the verbals have been underlined. Put a cross above the ones used incorrectly and write the correct verbals below. Five of them are correct so there is no need to change them.

    Dear Kenny,

Thanks for your letter. I really enjoyed (1) to hear from you again. I'm glad to hear you did so well in your final exam. I know you are a hard worker and I'm sure you deserved (2) get your distinction. I have just finished (3) writing my Sociology term paper and I hope (4) getting a distinction too. My lecturer should (5 ) to return it to me by tomorrow so I will (6) know very soon whether I managed (7) doing as well as you or not.

I got a letter from Eric in London last week. He seems (8) to be enjoying life in England. He's planning (9) come back for the holidays. He says he's no longer the lazy boy he was. He has quit ( 10) smoke, has taken up running and is preparing (11) running his first marathon in December. My goodness he must (12) have changed a great deal ! Can you recall (13) try to get him up in the mornings when he shared the flat in Ireland ?

Anyway, Eric has suggested ( 14) to get together when he's back over here. He wants (15) to meet up in Ireland but I'd rather (16) meeting in Scotland. Can you drop me a line and tell me how you feel about it ? Look forward to your letter.
