A Tapestry of History, Aspirations, and Progress |

The moments of history are like shining stars in the galaxy. I reach out my
fingers, counting these precious treasures, sometimes gazing, sometimes lost
in thought. These stars, full of spirituality and vitality, weave together a
great dream with a history of five thousand years—the Chinese Dream.
In the distance, there is a star that has weathered storms, from the ancient
times when the Yellow Emperor and Yan Emperor pioneered history to the
present day of national independence and self-reliance. I have seen too many
heroic deeds—Yao and Shun, revered for their virtue and wisdom; Luban, the
pioneer of engineering; Zu Chongzhi, the mathematician; Sima Qian, who
learned from history; the anti-Japanese hero Qi Jiguang; literary giants Cao
Xueqin and Lu Xun; Yuan Longping, the father of hybrid rice. Every Chinese
person has had dreams, ultimately aiming to improve their own lives and the
lives of others, to no longer worry about the necessities of life, to have
access to education, healthcare, and care for the elderly. Regardless of the
challenges faced, be it natural disasters or man-made calamities,
hurricanes, earthquakes, landslides, diseases, or conflicts and regime
changes, there will always be a serene smile after enduring hardships and
vicissitudes. Let the past be gone, let's focus on the present and
appreciate the talents around us.
The sky holds a shining star, representing the inspiring stories of the
successful Beijing Olympics and Shanghai World Expo, the successful launch
of Tiangong-1, and the smooth operation of the Gezhouba Dam hydropower
station. It represents the magnificent presence of China's comprehensive
national strength surpassing Japan to become the world's second-largest
economy. It symbolizes the humble face of Chinese warships, soaring like
eagles in the water and fostering friendly relations with neighboring
countries. The Chinese Dream continues, our gaze keeps shifting, silently
contributing our modest efforts. The dreams of ordinary people and small
individuals may seem ordinary, but when 1.4 billion Chinese people strive
for their dreams, when these diverse dreams align with President Xi
Jinping's call for the Chinese Dream, it becomes an uplifting and grand
objective shared by millions of people.
At this moment, I sit on the lawn, looking up at the starry sky, with
moonlight shining through dark clouds onto me. I stand up, a slight smile
curling at the corners of my mouth, filled with strength, honor, and
remembrance, inspiring myself. In my heart, I am prepared, planting the
Chinese Dream.
Today, my dream is for our sky to be free from smog, with a bright and clean
blue sky as my expectation. I also hope that sandstorms will no longer
ravage, allowing the gentle spring breeze to green the deserts, to green
every inch of Chinese land, to make every river clear and transparent, every
breath fresh and fragrant, every food safe and trustworthy, every life
healthy and secure, every family happy and prosperous, every bridge standing
for thousands of years, and every matter being fair and just.
As I look at the mystical sky above me, I smile. I believe that the Chinese
nation today is a healthy one, with a healthy social order and a healthy
spiritual life. My Chinese Dream will surely be realized one by one! |
