5.   If I had known the extent of his demand, I would not have promised to pay him.

7.   Unless he speaks the truth on your behalf, you will not be acquitted.
     
8.   Though the waves dash ever so high, the ship will not be lost.
     
9.   Though you may not be able to conquer, I exhort you to fight bravely to the last.
