A novelist and his wife go on vacation to an exclusive resort where they
encounter a subculture of tourists who indulge in
hedonistic tourism, violence, and surreal horrors. After a car
accident, the novelist is arrested and given the option to pay for a double to
be executed in his place, complete with his own memories.
As he struggles with his identity, the movie delves into themes of adjusting
to new cultures, the dehumanizing effects of hedonism, and the meaning of
justice in a technologically advanced future. The film is a psychedelic horror
romp that satirizes the rich and privileged. |
