Cinderella:
Open the gates!
Sing: So make your own way Show the beauty within.
When you follow your heart there's no heart you can't
win.
Man: Oh! Why, thank you!
Prudence: Your Highness, the king would not approve.
You're supposed to be inviting dukes and counts and
other
aristocrats.
Cinderella: I am inviting them, along with all my
friends here in the village.
Prudence: Your Highness, I strongly advise against
it. It's simply not the way things are done.
Cinderella: Perhaps the time has come to try
something new.
Sing: So reach for the sky. It's not high as it
seems.
Just follow your heart go as far as your dreams.
Cinderella: This party needs help, starting with
dessert.
Jaq: No prunes. Yuck!
Gus: Jaq-Jaq loves chocolate.
Cinderella: Chocolate
pudding ! Now that sounds good.
Daphne: We never get to dance like this.
Sing: Dance if you want to don't fear you'll fall
down.
Take a chance, 'cause it's better than never to
chance it at all.
Prudence: It simply isn't done. It simply isn't done.
Jaq & Gus: It simply isn't done...
Sing: There's a world for the changing and you've
just begun.
Don't let them tell you it's simply not done.
When you follow your heart you'll shine bright as the
sun.
Daphne: Your Highness, sand or buff?
Cinderella: Which color do you like?
Daphne: Hmm. Pink!
Cinderella: Perfect. Hmm. Something's still missing.
Now, that's more like it.
Prudence: What will the king say?
Cinderella: I know this is a big change. But I
have to try this my way.
Prudence: Well, then, I certainly hope you know what
you're doing.
Jaq: They're here, Cinderella! They're here!
Cinderella: Well, it's too late to turn back now.
Jaq: Now, this dance is more like it.
Prudence: Oh, this dance is horrifying! The king has
arrived.
King: What in blazes
is going on here?
Prudence: Your Majesty!
King: Who opened those curtains?
Prudence: This is all Princess Cinderella's doing!
King: Oh, what a lovely moon.
Prudence: I tried to teach her, Sire.
King:
Commoners in the palace?
Prudence: She simply refused to listen.
King: Oh, hello, Giuseppe!
Prudence: It's a scandal!
Cinderella: Your Majesty, I can explain.
King: What is this?
Cinderella: Your dessert, Sire.
King: No prunes for dessert?
Prudence: An absolute outrage!
King: Mmm, chocolate. My favorites! What happened to
the music? Everybody dance! I always said we needed some
new traditions around here. Go on, now, Prudence. You're
missing all the fun.
Prince: Did I miss something?
Cinderella: Surprise!
King: Splendid job. Splendid!
Prudence: It is the princess who deserves your
praise, Sire. And
I am honored to be at Her Highness's service.
Cinderella: I think we're going to be great friends.
King: I told my son he had chosen well. You're a natural.
Another dance!
Prince: I'm glad you do things your own way.
Cinderella: Someday I'll get this princess thing
right.
Prince: I think that day is today. |
