Growing Up as a Fruit Tree in an Orchard |
|
In the spring, I was a small seedling in an orchard. The sunshine sprinkled
golden powder on me, while the rain nourished me, allowing me to absorb their
nutrients and grow strong.
Here, there were also many flowers, including passionate roses, noble peonies,
and colorful trumpets. They looked down on me and ridiculed me.
When autumn arrived, I grew into a tall fruit tree covered with countless "red
lanterns". I stood tall, looking out at the fields beyond the orchard. The
fields looked like a bride dressed in bright embroidered clothes. The earth had
adorned it with vibrant floral patterns. Smiling corn, bending rice, blushing
sorghum... they all looked like guests attending a celebration, swaying and
dancing in the autumn wind. The orchard was full of vibrant colors. Grapevines
hung clusters of bright grapes. Horse milk fruit, longan, and lilac looked like
strings of sparkling pearls and agates. In the vegetable garden, eggplants put
on their big purple robes, while tomatoes wore their red wedding dresses. They
were all so lovely and brought people joy and hope for a bountiful harvest.
I looked back at the flowers that had once ridiculed me, now withered and gone.
A few children climbed onto my branches and picked off my "red lanterns". They
quenched their thirst and satisfied their hunger, relieving their fatigue and
allowing them to play happily without feeling tired. |
