My Experience with a Narcissus Flower |
|
After class, the teacher said, "Bring a pot of narcissus to the classroom
tomorrow." Excited, I imagined what this flower, known as the "Blue Wave Fairy,"
would look like.
As soon as I got home, I asked my mother for money to go to the flower and bird
market to buy a narcissus. "Wow, there are so many flowers here!" I exclaimed
uncontrollably. I looked left and right until I finally saw a stall selling
narcissus. At first glance, I saw a narcissus bud waiting to bloom, and I was
overjoyed and immediately bought it.
I held the bottom of the pot and carefully observed it. The emerald green leaves
concealed buds that looked like cute white balls, while under the green leaves
were large garlic-like objects.
A breeze came, and the narcissus swayed in the wind, like a beautiful girl
dancing gracefully.
At night, I placed the narcissus under the desk lamp. Suddenly, I saw a bud had
opened its white smiling face with snow-white teeth, and I was very excited. I
sniffed it, "Wow! There is also a faint fragrance!"
The next day, I got up early to see the narcissus again. What happened? Why did
the narcissus look like a sick child, withering away? I looked and saw that it
needed water. I quickly rescued it from the "arid region" and gave it water,
putting it back in its "beautiful home."
Every day, I changed the water and gave it sunlight. At night, I placed it under
the desk lamp. Finally, it bloomed into tempting white flowers.
I observed it closely again: the white petals had yellow stamens, and it was
incredibly lovely!
However, after a few days, the narcissus flower wilted, its leaves turning
yellow and drooping. I was overwhelmed with mixed feelings and thought: Why is
the narcissus flower's blooming period so short? But then I realized that even
though the narcissus flower's blooming period is brief, it presents its most
beautiful side to the world. |
