The Bittersweet Journey of Growth |
|
From the moment we are born, we embark on a journey of growth. Our bodies
gradually grow bigger, and our behaviors mature from naïve to responsible. In
this process of transformation, we experience adventures and surprises, much
like the taste of a green apple - sour yet sweet. The flavor of growth is
unforgettable.
As I reminisced during summer vacation, I stumbled upon an old photo album and
discovered a picture of myself as a newborn. With tiny hands and squinty eyes, I
looked like a little fool. My mother told me that I didn't know how to do
anything back then, except eat, drink, sleep, and use the bathroom. Slowly but
surely, I learned to flip, sit, crawl, and grow teeth, relishing in delicious
foods. Eventually, I took my first steps and embarked on a new journey, where
the world became vast and free for me to explore.
Later on, I began to babble and learned that calling out "e-e" meant food, while
"car-car" meant toys. I refused to take baths by saying "no," but learned to
communicate with people through language. The world changed for me in ways that
were indescribable. The joy of growth was beyond words.
Now, I not only walk but also run and jump. I can speak, write, draw, make
friends, and have a wealth of knowledge in my mind, ranging from astronomy to
geography. I have also become more mature in my interactions with others,
knowing the importance of being sincere and responsible.
In the near future, I will enter puberty, my voice will deepen, and I will
develop pimples. Mentally, I will become even more mature and responsible. After
going through a series of changes, I will emerge from my cocoon like a butterfly
and face a new future.
Growth is a necessary journey for everyone, and if we face it with an open mind,
we will discover that despite the heart-pounding moments, it is also full of
surprises! |
