The Power of Kindness and Language Learning

As the bell rang, a group of "bored" girls surrounded Rui, but Xiaomei just glanced and walked out of the classroom.

When Xiaomei returned to the classroom, she saw Rui crying. She asked Rou what happened. "Those girls were asking Rui this and that, and then she cried. Maybe she couldn't understand what they were saying," Rou smiled and said. Xiaomei sighed and said to those girls, "Hey, are you all census takers? If you have nothing to do, help her with Chinese, or just stop babbling..." The girls were scared and backed away.

"Can you be my teacher?" Rui said softly. Xiaomei looked at Rui and said, "Oh, then you better study hard. I don't have too much patience..." "Okay!" The two laughed...

From that day on, Rui followed Xiaomei all the time. Through hard work, Rui finally learned to speak Chinese smoothly.

One day, Rui accidentally stepped on the foot of a boy named Lin, the most handsome boy in the class, who was also the head of the grade. Because of Rui's proud personality, she didn't pay much attention to it. But this made Lin angry, and he picked on Rui. Xiaomei found out and went to talk to Lin. "She's from Korea and doesn't know better. Please don't mind," Xiaomei said. Lin wanted to let it go, but then he thought, "No, I want Xiaomei to apologize for her (because no one had ever heard Rui apologize before)...! "How can we just leave it like this?! If she doesn't apologize to me, you can do it for her!" Lin smirked. Xiaomei clenched her fists and then relaxed. "Fine! You can have it your way! I'm sorry!" she said and then left in a huff, while Lin just stood there laughing.

Rui followed Xiaomei and kept thanking her. Xiaomei suddenly turned around and said, "Ha! I don't deserve that! If you really want to thank me, just stay out of trouble!" "Hehe..." Rui blushed and lowered her head. "By the way, Xiaomei, why are so many people 'afraid' of you? I think you are very kind!" Xiaomei sneered, "Ha! You can ask others!"
