The Tale of Two Trees

There was a farmer who planted two fruit trees in his backyard. Both trees were of the same variety and grew in the same environment, but they had different attitudes. Under the careful care of the farmer, both trees' seeds quickly sprouted. The first tree was grateful for the farmer's kindness and immediately grew branches as soon as its roots emerged. It continued to grow quickly and within a few months, had branches that resembled those of a mature tree, albeit not as thick. However, the tree didn't mind as it believed that as long as it grew, it didn't matter how thick its branches were. It was confident that it would bear fruit and repay the farmer. The second tree, on the other hand, took a different approach. It didn't rush but instead focused on growing steadily, step by step, in order to produce the best fruit to repay the farmer.

After the first year, the first tree demonstrated exceptional strength and produced flowers and fruit. Although the fruit was small and sour, the farmer was happy and believed that it would be better when it grew bigger. The tree was proud and decided that in the future, it would produce more flowers and fruit to repay the farmer. Meanwhile, the second tree didn't flower or grow as much that year. Instead, it focused on building up its strength to ensure that its flowers would be beautiful, and its fruit would be delicious. The farmer appreciated the first tree more and boasted about it everywhere, proud that his tree had produced flowers and fruit in its first year.

In the following years, the first tree tried hard to produce more flowers and fruit, but it had exhausted its energy and couldn't bear fruit anymore. Meanwhile, the second tree had enough energy to produce beautiful flowers and delicious fruit. In the end, the farmer cut down the first tree for firewood, while the second tree survived.

The tale of these two trees highlights the importance of balance and patience in life. Although the first tree produced fruit early on, it didn't have the strength to produce more in the future. In contrast, the second tree took its time to grow and focus on building its strength, which eventually paid off in the form of beautiful flowers and delicious fruit. This tale reminds us to prioritize patience and balance in our endeavors rather than striving for quick success without proper preparation.
