A Visit to the Majestic Huangguoshu Waterfall |
|
During this summer vacation, I had the opportunity to go on a trip to Guizhou
with my dad and witnessed the magnificent Huangguoshu Waterfall, which has been
lingering in my mind ever since.
It was a beautiful day with clear weather, perfect for sightseeing. As we
strolled along the verdant pines and cypresses, we took our time to savor the
breathtaking scenery and feared that we might miss any splendid sights and
regret it for a lifetime.
Perhaps because I was too eager to see the fabled Huangguoshu Waterfall, I
quickly arrived at the base of the waterfall. "Ah, I can hear the sound of
water. We're getting closer!" The sound of the water seemed to be pulling at my
heartstrings, leading me to the foot of the waterfall. The Huangguoshu Waterfall
was like a silver river pouring down, crashing into the rippling pool below and
turning into pristine white foam. Some of the water hit the rocks in the pool,
while others rushed toward the rocks behind me, creating a stunning scene of
"falling straight down for three thousand feet." As I gazed up at the waterfall
in awe, suddenly I felt a chill on my face, thinking it might be raining. But
when I touched my face, I realized that it was the spray from the waterfall. The
breathtaking view left me feeling ecstatic.
As we continued walking, we reached the "Water Curtain Cave," which was only a
curtain away from the waterfall. The entrance of the cave was tiny and could
only fit one person at a time. I bent down and slowly walked inside, being
careful not to bump my head or scrape my nose. When I looked up, a miracle
happened. A tiny rainbow gradually formed, connecting both sides of the
waterfall, shimmering with beautiful hues. The rainbow was so enchanting that
visitors started taking out their cameras to capture this magical moment, even
at the expense of hitting their heads.
The Huangguoshu Waterfall is a microcosm of the beauty of our country's
mountains and rivers and a wonder of the world. With its unique scenery, it will
continue to attract more tourists. |
