The Environmental Consequences of Technological
Advancement |
|
With the advancement of technology, the Earth's resources have suffered
significant damage. Currently, there are two major forms of pollution on Earth:
air pollution and water pollution. Let's first talk about automobile exhaust
pollution!
With the ease of access to cars these days, it's no surprise that automobile
exhaust is running rampant in the air. Due to the lack of appreciation for
nature and the environment, the flowers, plants, and trees on the ground have
become scarce. The unabsorbed automobile exhaust can harm human beings, causing
illnesses and even death. Some of it also rises up into the atmosphere and mixes
with toxic gases, creating highly destructive sulfur dioxide. This sulfur
dioxide gradually rises to the ozone layer, causing it to become very thin. The
intense sunlight then directly shines on the Earth, causing suffering to all
living creatures. The result is a planet plagued by drought and begging people,
with cries of despair echoing throughout.
Another significant form of pollution is water pollution. We can see garbage in
small rivers, large rivers, and even the oceans. This garbage is not natural and
is not caused by changes in the water quality. It is the result of human beings
carelessly discarding waste. These small pieces of trash have polluted entire
rivers, oceans, and ecosystems. Although some places have built sewage treatment
plants, and some areas have cleaner water, this is only a temporary solution.
Even if we treat all the sewage now, human beings will repeat the same mistakes
in the future.
There is a famous saying that goes, "Worry about the world's troubles before
enjoying the world's pleasures." However, we are currently living in a time
where people are enjoying the world's pleasures first and only worrying about
its troubles later. It is crucial that we come to the realization that our
environment needs protection, and our planet needs our love and care. We cannot
keep living in this self-indulgent manner. Let us take action and work together
to protect our Earth. |
