A Joyful Day Making Steamed Pork Bun

Oh, what a wonderful day! The weather is so sunny, and the world is so beautiful.

Lying by the window, I recall what happened on the sixth day of the lunar new year.

That day, my mom suggested that our family (including my uncle's family, my aunt's family, our family, my third aunt, and grandma) make Steamed pork bun together and compare who made the best-looking one. Each person was limited to making two.

We started by kneading the dough. How come I was the only one doing it? Where were the others? (I mean, besides me) NO! Why is this dough so sticky? I couldn't help but sigh in my heart. After a few minutes... Ah-ha-ha! I finally kneaded the dough successfully, but it looked weird. It's okay. Next, we needed to wrap the filling... In silence... I always felt that something was wrong. What was it? I don't care. Ha! My Steamed pork bun looks so perfect. Oh, I forgot to wash the banana leaves. I said, "Where did everyone go?" They didn't even call me. So, I had to put my "little cutie" on the mat and hurriedly washed the leaves. As the saying goes, "haste makes waste." Indeed, when I washed the leaves, they became soft and broke. So, I washed them slowly. When they were done, I put my "little cutie"... Huh? Why does it look so ugly? (When I washed the leaves, it softened) Never mind! I put it in the leaves and started steaming it. I was so excited! But when it was done, my goodness! I wanted to cry. How could it turn out like this? My "little cutie" was a mess.

"Hee-hee!" That's me laughing. Why? Because my younger brother's was even worse than mine. His "invincible King Kong" (he made up the name. Geez! We're not at war) was simply inedible. Just looking at it made me want to vomit!

Later, I made another one. With my creativity, I broke the rules. Oh, yeah! I was awarded the best-looking prize! (Actually, I just cut the leaves into petal shapes.) Sadly, I had to make this type of Steamed pork bun for everyone as a representation of winning the prize. Am I not tired? So frustrating!

However, this day was truly joyful!
