The Importance of National
Defense |
|
As I knock on the heavy door of history, a certain idea resonates in my
heartstrings: respect for history and peace. On the eve of the Anti-Japanese
War, a Japanese military reconnaissance team visited the Northeast of China for
investigation. When they arrived at the military camp, they were shocked to see
Chinese soldiers hanging their clothes on the cannons. The Japanese team said,
"China can be invaded now!" Soon after, the Northeast fell under the iron hoof
of the Japanese invaders, marking the beginning of the Anti-Japanese War.
Despite the determination of the brave soldiers who sacrificed themselves for
their country, the small number of troops were unable to change the course of
history. From then on, the Japanese invaders looted and pillaged across Chinese
land.
This shows that a country cannot be defenseless for even a day. The strength of
a country's national defense determines its fate. The reason why China was
invaded by Japan was that the National Government did not value the construction
of national defense and was self-satisfied. Instead of actively resisting the
invasion, they only retreated. Therefore, we must spare no effort to enhance our
national defense capabilities. Only then can China stand tall among the world's
nations.
From the launch of "Shenzhou 1" to "Shenzhou 5," China became the third country
in the world to independently master manned space technology. Then, with the
successful launch of the "Shenzhou 6" manned spacecraft, China achieved
two-person and multi-person flight. Looking ahead to the expected launch of "Chang'e
2" in 2010, China's aerospace industry has undergone an extraordinary journey.
All signs indicate that China's national defense capabilities are making
significant strides, making all countries around the world take notice. In this
era of peace, I aspire to be a dove of peace flying among the blue sky and white
clouds, spreading peace to every corner of the world. Let us lead a life of
peace, happiness, and beauty, and forever stay away from war. |
