Today marks the beginning of the autumn semester. For me, the first day of
school is always hectic. I had to work overtime last night to prepare lesson
plans and review materials. Today, I have to check my students' holiday
assignments, move classrooms, and create a class schedule. I knew it was going
to be a busy day, but there was no avoiding it. It's just something that comes
with the territory.
At noon, I couldn't sleep. I guess it's the pre-school anxiety that many
teachers experience. My son went to his aunt's house and didn't come back until
almost 2 o'clock. He banged on the door loudly as he entered, and immediately
shouted, "I have to go to school at three o'clock to help the student council."
He was really eager to get involved. Even though it was only two o'clock, he ran
off to school. When I arrived at the school, he was already playing on the
playground. He ran into the office from time to time, and then back downstairs.
Eventually, Ms. Chen asked them to help move some things. When he came back
home, I saw that he was covered in dust and dirt stains. I had warned him this
morning that we were going to clean the house today and not to wear white
clothes. But he didn't believe me and insisted on wearing his white sports
shirt. Now, he had to take it off and wash it himself. I just gave him some
technical guidance while he did it. That little rascal! I hope he learned his
lesson.
When I asked him about his homework, he said he was going to let the teacher
collect it. I told him, "It doesn't matter, I'll provide it for you." I handed
him a stack of draft paper and waited to see if he had anything else to say.
I'm too tired now, so I'll stop writing here. Tonight, I still have to input and
modify the materials that the teachers have reviewed. Ah, the first day of
school, it's always chaotic and unpredictable. |
