Reflections on the Life and Virtues of Confucius

Today, I watched a movie about Confucius, which tells the story of his life from a prominent advisor to the state of Lu to a wandering beggar, and finally back to Lu. It is a journey full of twists and turns, leaving me deeply moved by the ups and downs of life, and saddened by the tragic fate of such a noble person.

The theme of the movie is to learn from the virtues of Confucius, which makes people deeply ponder. In that turbulent era, the Confucianism he advocated was highly valued by various countries, but he did not allow himself to be tempted by the high salary offered by other countries, and remained loyal to Lu. However, he was eventually driven out of Lu by treacherous people and became a beggar. If this were in modern times, he would certainly be a highly respected person. However, in that era of war and chaos, he was reduced to a beggar, struggling to survive. This is a clear example of life's unfairness, which makes people lament how a saint like him could fall so low.

Seeing Confucius' upright figure in such a dark age, I couldn't help but be moved. In our peaceful times, people with such virtues as Confucius are rarely seen. Learning to follow Confucius' path is not easy, but it is also simple because it only involves upholding the most basic principles of being a human being. In fact, Confucius only accomplished this much. The difficulty lies in the fact that it takes more than just imagination to achieve this. It requires us to abandon fame, wealth, status, and so on. Although we may not be as great as Confucius, we can at least be proud to say that our life is honest and free from evil.

After watching Confucius, I have been reflecting deeply.
