The Wise and Enchanted Forest

In the vibrant and mysterious forest of Wei, many animals reside alongside five guardians who oversee different matters. The fairy Alice is in charge of the Love Tree and resolving love disputes; the wise Ox God oversees intelligence tests and teaching; the Food Spirit is the most renowned chef in the forest; the fairy Doctor Jinglian takes care of the sick; and Dai Jingzi is the gardener.

One sunny day, Ox God wanted to test the character of three young animals: the greedy pig, the clever monkey, and the honest cow. So, he waved his wand, and three bags of wheat appeared before them. Ox God then hid behind a tree. The animals saw the bags and each took one on their shoulders.

The greedy pig took the wheat home and ground it into flour to make a big cake. He drooled with hunger as he baked it and then devoured it hungrily. The honest cow cleaned and washed the wheat, dried it, and then put it in a plastic bag in the fridge with a note for the owner. Meanwhile, the clever monkey dried the wheat, then buried it in a paddy field, thinking that the owner would never show up, and that he could keep most of the wheat for himself when the owner claimed it later.

Ox God witnessed everything and the next day praised the clever monkey, saying, "You are a smart child. Your method was good, and you got the wheat and made sure the owner would get it too. No wonder everyone calls you Little Doctor!" He also praised the honest cow, saying, "You are a good child. You wrote a claim notice for the wheat." To the pig, he said, "Don't be too greedy! Filling your belly can never compare to honesty and using your brain."

Thus, the wise and enchanted forest continued to teach and nurture its young inhabitants.
