The Gift of Adolescence |
|
At the age of 14, the girl's face was like a bud waiting to bloom. However, she
was suddenly invaded by a "pimple army" and her once flawless forehead was now
covered in blemishes.
She felt a little annoyed.
So, she stood in front of the mirror, inspecting her face from every angle. At
first, there were only a few pimples, like helpless children on a vast prairie.
But now, it seemed like they had received a signal to gather and had multiplied
overnight.
She felt a little overwhelmed.
To hide the pimples, she pulled down her bangs. But when it was windy or during
gym class when she was sweating profusely, her true appearance was exposed.
She felt a little anxious.
Finally, she mustered up the courage to stand in front of the full-length mirror
and squeeze her pimples. It hurt so much that tears streamed down her face.
Although she successfully flattened the pimples, she was left with nail marks
and bloodstains on her forehead. She washed them off with water and applied a
hot towel, but the pimples remained fresh and unattractive.
She felt a little angry.
She couldn't resist gently touching the small pimples, and suddenly, she
shuddered. She remembered a passage from a book she had read that said,
"Adolescence is a joyful and fascinating yet restless and anxious season. If you
focus on learning and personal growth, your youth will be filled with vitality.
If you get lost in your worries, your youth will be bitter and dull."
She felt a little happy.
Her thoughts began to race, and she finally understood that these pesky pimples
were a symbol of her adolescence, testing her ability to cope with her troubles.
These pimples that were mocking her were actually her close friends, whispering
in her ear, reminding her that "adolescence=( learning + joyful worries ) ×
effort."
She felt a little inspired.
Oh, acne of youth! |
